READ THE IMPORTANT IN
For the sake of your treatment, we would like to make sure that you HAVE read “the important information” on the website, here: https://sportsvaerksted.com/#important
YOUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN HEALTH
Sportsvaerksted strives to significantly reduce your symptoms during the REPAIR (defined as “half or better” when we finish compared to when we began) and teaches/instructs you to perform the same treatment on yourself at home, but first and foremost, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY as a client to perform the “homework” / “exercises” / “self-help” / “instructions” correctly and as directed; secondarily, to attend a follow-up checkup no later than 1–3 days after the repair, and to help us ensure you’re doing it correctly. If you do not do both of these things (the primary and the secondary), you are hindering your own healing, and we decline responsibility for what happens next.
This also means that if you were satisfied with both the Repair and the Checkup, but then find that you cannot keep the pain at bay, we decline responsibility for that: it is YOUR responsibility to perform it correctly, even three, or fourteen, or thirty days later.
Alternatively, you must order a new repair(!) and pay for it—since many factors may have changed in the meantime, and we may have forgotten what we did for you and need to “rediscover” how your body works, even if we have notes in the journal from our previous visit.
CONSEQUENCES OF THE TREATMENT
The treatment may hurt, but we do not apply more pressure than you allow us to.
You may experience soreness or bruising from the treatment. If you follow our instructions THOROUGHLY, you will minimize the discomfort.
If, on the other hand, you DO NOT FOLLOW our instructions—for whatever reason—then you will make the discomfort WORSE and undo the positive effects you felt when you walked out the door after the Repair, and all our work will be wasted, and we will not accept responsibility.
PAYMENT
We do not have agreements with any health insurance companies.
We accept payments by bank transfer or credit card, but not cash.
Sportsvaerksted does not refund treatments that have already been provided.
We are a service provider and, therefore, under Danish law, have no legal obligation to refund or compensate for services that have already been performed.
If you contact us with inquiries regarding this matter, we will consider it an act of “bad will” or “bad faith” on your part.
We will send you the invoice(s) by email—IF your employer or insurance company accepts it, that’s fine—but Sportsvaerksted has nothing to do with it.
As a general rule, Sportsvaerksted always requires payment for treatments that have begun or been provided, but may choose to waive this requirement.
(This is not to take advantage of anyone, but simply to protect ourselves from greedy and uncooperative individuals who should not have come to us in the first place.)
Our measure of success is that, before you leave us, you indicate that your symptoms are half as severe—or better—than when we first met. BUT this depends on a professional assessment in each individual case, and it is solely Sportsvaerksted’s judgment that determines this—(because there are some conditions that, despite significant immediate improvement, simply take a week or two to fully recover, such as certain shoulder or hand injuries).
In special cases, Sportsvaerksted may choose to provide a discount code or other types of rebates or refunds—but it is up to us whether we choose to offer these.
YOUR INFORMATION: WHAT WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU AND WHY
After your treatment at Sportsvaerksted, we write a brief summary of our findings in an online journal. We record all or some of the following (though not exclusively) about you—but only what you have told us yourself in connection with your treatment or written to us: your professional background, age, general state of health, previous visits to other healthcare professionals, previous visits to us and how your condition has progressed, your symptoms, and our assessment and description of the treatment provided.
Some of this information helps provide insight into possible causes of the condition for which you have sought our help, and the rest serves as documentation of your treatment so that other healthcare professionals can review your case or avoid duplicating efforts.
You are, of course, welcome to read the contents of the journal, and if you ask, we can email it to you!
Internally at Sportsvaerksted, we may discuss its contents in order to help other clients with the same symptoms, or update it based on any future feedback you provide us regarding your ongoing health.
We do not share your records with third parties—that is, people who are not affiliated with Sportsvaerksted or other practitioners—without your consent.
YOUR INFORMATION: STORAGE
The information above is submitted and stored by and through Terapeutbooking, a system we lease to serve as the infrastructure for Sportsvaerksted. Terapeutbooking manages appointments, invoicing, client data, and medical records via an encrypted connection between us and them, and they store this data with a Danish company in Denmark.
YOUR INFORMATION: COMMUNICATING WITH INSURANCE COMPANIES, DOCTORS, ETC.
At your request or that of your insurance company, we can send you your medical records. Unless you specify otherwise, this is done via secure email through our administration system—we will send the login information to the email address you provided when placing your order so that you can access your medical records.
We do not send the records directly to the doctor or insurance company—for security reasons—you must provide the medical records to them yourself.
YOUR INFORMATION: WHEN AND WHY WE CONTACT YOU
We may contact you regarding booking an appointment or treatment, or to ask for your feedback on your treatment.
YOUR INFORMATION: DELETION
Your data is automatically deleted after 5 years of inactivity. You are welcome to contact us to have all your data deleted before then. However, we retain invoices for tax purposes.
YOU AS A CLIENT & OUR MARKETING
We regularly refer to clients’ cases in our marketing. However, we do so either without names or identifiable details, OR with the client’s consent—for example, by featuring a review that we then reference.
If you feel that we have done something inappropriate, please contact us, and we will, of course, remove the content and offer an apology. Naturally, we will never act in a way that is detrimental to others.
